Drew is a retired Federal Agent having served with the Department of the Army, Provost Marshals Office and retired from the United States Federal Protective Service (FPS). During his tenure he served as a Security Specialist, Criminal Investigator and FPS District Director (acting), whose area of responsibility covered four Great Lake states, Indiana – Illinois – Minnesota – Wisconsin.
Peterson was responsible for the security, counterterrorism and law enforcement staff of major government Federal buildings and installations to include the second largest building next to the Pentagon, the Army’s Finance and Accounting Center, along with Federal Buildings, U. S. Courthouses and other public buildings.
He is a government certified Security Specialist in Countering Terrorism who has experience in conducting security surveys, risk analysis, crime prevention assessments, counterterrorism strategies, workplace violence, emergency planning, executive protection and security training as an instructor. He held a secret security clearance.
Peterson has conducted risk analysis and counterterrorism for the Office of the Vice President of the United States, Senators, Congressman, federal judges and other high-level government officials. He was instrumental in recommending to Washington additional security measures at federal facilities following the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal Building.
Drew was a member of the Federal Court Security Committee where he worked with U. S. Attorneys,
U. S. Marshals and Federal Judges to insure a safe and protective courthouse atmosphere. His recommended plans and security countermeasures of higher levels of security were implemented.
As a Criminal Investigator, Peterson has experience in investigating felonies and misdemeanors, surveillance, evidence collection, interviewing, testifying and courtroom procedure.
Peterson is currently a Brigadier General, National Security Advisor, with the USNDC. Peterson enlisted in the U.S. Army straight out of high school in 1967 and volunteered to serve two tours of duty in Vietnam with the Army 25th Inf. Div. at Cu Chi. In addition to his division security duties, he served as Agent Cashier for the Division Finance Colonel and traveled throughout RVN as paymaster paying division troops at different locations. He also transported millions of dollars worth of Military Pay Scripts to the main Finance Office in Saigon for exchange and was involved in the countering of illegal currency transactions which were often tied to black market commodity sales.
He is a former commissioned officer with the Indiana Guard Reserve (State Defense Force), in the Army Intelligence branch. Drew provided training to guard members, including general officer ranks, in Army Physical Security and Counterterrorism. Peterson is a Senior Member of the Civil Air Patrol, Indiana Wing. Prior to civilian Federal government service, he was a member of the Michigan State Police and is a former Deputy Sheriff.
Mr. Peterson is also a retired licensed security consultant and private investigator who offered services to law firms and businesses. He is an expert offering security advice/witness advice in security issues for both plaintiff and defense to determine duty of care and foreseeability in cases of security litigation. Peterson was an adjunct faculty member with an Indiana University teaching criminal justice and law courses.
